Yes, this car, with every possible option on it in the Avenir trim, gets perilously close to the price of some offerings from the luxury brands but I don't care. We strive to create well-rounded athletes with the ability to contribute to their teams offensively, defensively, and at the faceoff X. I was surprised by the extremely good predicted reliability rating that the Lacrosse had (higher than the Toyota Avalon) so that eases my mind about going with this particular GM product. Sport mode adds some weight to the steering and firms up the ride a bit. The handling with the 20" wheels and adaptive suspension is incredibly impressive. The engine auto-shutoff is not intrusive but it cannot be disabled. The performance is really impressive especially for a full size sedan. The brake pedal and feel is fantastic - smooth and linear with no gabbiness. But once the power comes on it comes on hard and the overall throttle response is great. The only small issue is some lag after stomping on the gas at speed. The power and power delivery from the 310 hp 3.6L V6 and 9 speed transmission is great. Even the shifter that has gotten some flack in some reviews is actually easy to get used to. The switch gear all has a good feel and the controls are pretty intuitive. True the lower door pocket panels are hard plastic but virtually everything you actually see and feel while driving is great. GM interiors have had a long reputation for cheap materials but not this one. The ebony and chestnut interior is fabulous and the interior is made of high-quality materials. ![]() The Ohio State prospect went 200-for-298 in.
